I caught crabs at our rental property at Sunset beach every summer but they always ended up in the freezer, but not now. Now they get put in one side of a split six footer Better Bait Bucket and Crab Corral.

Uncle Kevin is my hero. These Better Bait Buckets work like a champ. We put a bunch of shrimp and finger mullet in them and they’re still alive the next day. When we put anything in the plastic bait bucket overnight, they always died. When I grow up, I want to be just like Uncle Kevin because he’s a much better fisherman than me.

These better bait buckets saved the day. We were “adopted” by a young pelican that required frequent feeding and we used the BBB&CC to keep a bunch on hand. We would toss a net into a school one time and they would all fit into the BBB&CC and we’d feed Fred all day long.

I love this thing. I own a waterfront home and love fresh crabs. Well, we can catch them off our dock but always had to put them into the freezer until we had enough for both my husband and I. Now, I move them from the crab trap straight to the Crab Corral and they stay fresh for as long as it takes. I have to feed them but all I do is keep some finger mullet in the same Crab Corral. If the crabs don’t catch them, I simply slice the finger mullet, put them back in the Crab Corral and the crabs never eat each other. This was worth every penny.

Our dock has a really strong cross current and the small plastic bait buckets always ends up floating so high that there isn’t enough water in the bucket to keep the bait even wet much less alive. And there isn’t any flow through the bucket so even if there was some water in the bucket, the air would be gone right quick. Those little buckets are only good for short time uses, in a low current and with very few bait. These Better Bait Buckets are a life saver. I can keep mullet, minnows or menhaden wet and alive. As many as I want. The current pulls on them but these BBB stay submerged.

I have a collapsible 3 foot BBB&CC that I use on my boat so that my stripers don’t die.
I put my bait in my live well and put the stripers in the BBB&CC. I keep them alive so that I can always keep the largest 2 or 4 or 6 depending on how many of my buddies go. This 3 footer will easily hold ten 2 foot stripers and when I’m done with it, still store up against the wall taking up almost no space.
We’ll get into a bunch of schoolie stripers and end up with six 19 inchers and by the end of the day we have six 22 to 24 inchers. It’s plain simple. I don’t know why I didn’t think of it.
